– Kumasi-based athlete, Ahmed Boakye, has won the 2020 edition of Ghana’s Strongest
– Boakye won ahead of Prosper Dakora, Mustapha Arhin and Godfred Akolbila
– He took home a brand new saloon car, cash of GHC5,000, among others as his prize
Kumasi-based bodybuilder, Ahmed Boakye, has won the 2020 edition, ninth season, of TV3’s Ghana’s Strongest reality show.
At the final held at the Elli Beach Resort in Tegbi near Keta in the Volta Region, Boakye beat competition from Prosper Dakora, Mustapha Arhin and Godfred Akolbila to become champion.
Though he started on a not so good note, Boakye bounced back to give a string of impressive performances to dominate the day.
Boakye faltered in the first event of the day, Truck Pull, coming last and getting only 16 points. But he won the four remaining events on the day.
Speaking after being announced the winner, Boakye who was been competing for the eighth time said:
“It’s been a tough game for me. I have suffered a lot but now everybody including my mother is happy for me.”
For his prize, Boakye took home a brand new Hyundai saloon car, five thousand cedis (GHC5,000), and souvenirs from sponsors.
Prosper Dakora, who is challenging for the title just the second time, came second despite a knock during the Stone Toss event.
Though he was stretchered off, he came back to complete the final even and walked away with GH¢8,000 plus souvenirs from sponsors.
Third, came Mustapha Arhin, a consistent finalist, who walked away with GH¢6,000 and souvenirs from sponsors.
Godfred Akolbila, who could not complete his events, came fourth, walking away with GH¢4,000.
In other news, Sarkodie’s much-anticipated Black Love Virtual Concert slated for tonight, August 16, 2020, is attracting massive viewership all over the world.
However, the traffic from many expectant viewers of the virtual show has caused the website to go down over bandwidth issues.
The official streaming website for the show, CEEK, have however released a statement following the hiccup and has assured fans that normalcy would soon be restored.
