Slickianna, a well-known online persona belonging to Aneka Townsend of Jamaica, was discovered dead on Friday in Reading, Montego Bay, St. James.
According to sources, the young entrepreneur’s body was discovered floating in the water close to the shore wearing only shoes. Aneka Townsend, who has 317K Instagram followers, apparently received a head wound from a gunshot. A graphic video posted online also displayed a floating body with one shoe that matched the influencer’s final Instagram photo and a tattoo on the side of her leg and butt that was strikingly similar to Townsend’s.
A review of her Instagram account revealed that throughout the previous 16 hours, the woman shared more than a dozen posts there. She was wearing white t-shirt, shorts, and nude-colored foam runners when she was last seen, which was 22 hours ago. She was also carrying a purse.
Townsend was well-known in the entertainment industry, and in 2019 Baby Cham was thought to be dating him when she was photographed at his hotel in Kingston and the two appeared affectionate in photographs. Considering that Cham is wed to his wife, Miss O, neither she nor the artist, however, confirmed or refuted the claim.
Slickianna’s marriage is said to have fallen apart because of rumors that she was dating the husband of a well-known dancehall performer. Other than the fact that she has a son and once performed as a stripper at the Taboo Strip club in its former New Kingston location, not much is known about Townsend’s private life.
On Friday, Townsend supporters expressed disbelief and struggled to process the information.
“Bro her body was there juss floating dawg no clothes and a the same sandals f**kry,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Slick say a Nuh yuh please come live now @life.of.a.king a wah really a gwan,” another person said.
“Jah jah a she fr eno just look pon the tattoos dem look pon the fether pon r leg n look go pon r ig n look if ano the same feather jah jah,” another said.
“That video is going to give me a nightmare sighhh so sorry for her son,” another said.
