As Nigeria at large continues to celebrate his impact and mourn the demise of the late Sound Sultan, the Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) dedicates its victories to him.

The NBBF took to Twitter to dedicate their victories against US and Argentina to the late Olanrewaju Fasasi, popularly known as Sound Sultan.

The Icon who’s not only a singer and songwriter also made a great impact in the Basketball league in Nigeria.

Sound Sultan was a huge basketball enthusiast. He played in school and in 2015 acquired a stake in the Lagos Islanders, a Lagos-based basketball club founded in 1984.

Sound Sultan

He actively worked to promote the sport in Lagos and Nigeria.

Here’s the tweet;

We dedicate the victories against US & Argentina to late Olanrewaju Fasasi (@Soundsultan). You saw this day coming when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball. Ironically, the day we won against @usabasketball, was when you gave up the ghost. RIP,”
