Rema launches his first single of 2021, “Bounce,” after announcing to his fans that he will release his widely awaited debut album this year.
Rema collaborates with Don Jazzy, the label’s godfather, for the first time since signing to Mavin Records in 2019. Don Jazzy turns things up and delivers a threatening, fast-paced performance unlike anything we’ve heard from him before.
Don Jazzy, one of music’s most prominent figures, has a legendary discography that includes collaborations with Jay Z, Kanye West, and D’Banj’s – “Oliver Twist,” which was instrumental in the global Afrobeats movement.
Rema’s debut album has rapidly become one of the most talked-about projects to emerge from West Africa, despite the fact that the concept and collaborations are still being kept under wraps. His hybrid approach to music keeps his fans coming back over and over again as he finds himself in the middle of this multifaceted, complex, and rich scene.
