Kenneth Oodee - Gone Are Those Days

GONE ARE THOSE DAYS

Who said there is a culture,
I fear the worst in the future
Lost track of our ways
In technology, we live our days
Morals are decaying
Traditions are fading

Our songs and ancient beats
Our dances and firewood heats
Our ankara’s and palm wine
Our calabash and hieroglyphical signs
Our wise words and tales by moonlight
Our obedience and wrestling fights
Are all gone

Our tash houses and streams
Our farms and childhood dreams
Our beads, costumes and fashion
Our afros, fela trousers and vintage pictures
Our foods, festivals and celebrations
Our love, faithful relationships and patient
Are all gone

Our rules and leaders
Our schools and teachers
Our doctrines and faith
Our journeys and fate
Our marriages and funerals
Our herbs and minerals
Are all gone
