L.A.X returns with a new track titled “Faster” after the success of his 2021 debut single “PEMPE” with Davido.
“Faster,” created by Smeez Beat, is a soothing Afro-pop/Soul Amapiano track that will reintroduce L.A.X to the top of the charts.
Damilola Afolabi (born April 10, 1993), better known by his stage name L.A.X, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer who blends Afrobeats, Afropop, Fuji, and, most recently, the South African-based sound Amapiano.
While under a major-label agreement with Starboy Entertainment, L.A.X achieved international success with Wizkid’s critically acclaimed song “Caro” in 2013. Wizkid went on to have several big singles with him, including “Ginger” and “Nobody.”
L.A.X founded Rasaki Music in 2016 and has since released a combination of club bangers and serenades such as “Fine Boy,” “Morenike,” “Gimme Dat,” “Gwara Gwara,” and most recently, chart-topping collaborations on his hits “Run Away” with Wande Coal and “Gobe” ft 2Baba, among others.
The 27-year-old singer-songwriter has previously collaborated with Yemi Alade, DaVido, Maleek Berry, Duncan Mighty, Moelogo, and others.
His sophomore album, “Zaza Vibes,” was published on November 5th and is a collection of songs written by the musician as a means of expressing his love and admiration for African women. Among the album’s lead songs are the Amapiano-infused “Go Low,” the islandic dance “Sempe,” and the female star-studded “Gobe Remix.”
