Queens Park Rangers manager, Gareth Ainsworth has confirmed that Leon Balogun will be out for the rest of the season after the Nigerian defender suffered another injury.

Balogun’s 2022/23 campaign has been ravaged by injury and ahead of QPR’s Sky Bet Championship match against Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday, Ainsworth confirmed another.

“We have got a very good squad available now and did not pick any injuries up at Burnley which was brilliant,” Ainsworth told reporters at the pre-match press conference on Friday.

“Only Ossie Kakay and Leon Balogun will be out for the rest of the season and I am gutted for them as they are both brilliant professionals.”

Balogun joined QPR last summer on a free transfer and was a mainstay in their defence, starting 12 league games and scoring one goal before an injury kept him to the sidelines.
