The Manchester City midfielder has been voted Premier League Player of the Season after scoring 17 league goals and eight assists this season.
The Premier League Player of the Year award has been hijacked by Manchester City once again! Phil Foden, the young English midfielder, has joined the elite club of Cityzens who have dominated this award for the past five seasons. He’s following in the footsteps of Kevin de Bruyne, Ruben Dias, and Erling Haaland – what a legendary squad!
Foden’s impressive season has earned him this prestigious title, and we can’t argue with the stats. 25 goal contributions (17 goals, eight assists) in 34 league appearances? That’s like a goal or assist every other game! No wonder Manchester City is pushing for a fourth Premier League title in a row.
But let’s give it up for the competition – Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Cole Palmer, Alexander Isak, Ollie Watkins, and Virgil van Dijk all gave it their best shot. Unfortunately, they were no match for Foden’s brilliance.
Manchester City is now the club with the second-most winners in the award’s history, just behind Manchester United. But with this kind of talent, who knows how long it’ll take for City to surpass them?
Foden’s win marks the fifth consecutive season a Manchester City player has taken home the award. We’re starting to think they have a secret formula for producing Player of the Year winners… or maybe it’s just their exceptional talent and hard work!
Congratulations, Phil Foden, on your well-deserved win! May this be the first of many accolades to come.
