Design and Display

Tecno Phantom X2 Pro features a similar design as the Phantom X2. You get the same uni-body double-curved display design with the display curved on the left and right sides, but not on the top and bottom. It is available in two colors: Stardust Gray and Mars Orange.

It features a similar eye-catching camera setup as the X2, but with a twist. You get a retractable zoom camera. It features aluminum frames and a renewable fiber back made of 50% recycled material from plastic waste harvested from the Indian Ocean.

Tecno Phantom X2 Pro offers a 6.8-inch AMOLED curved display with a 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. The display features 500 nits brightness and 120Hz refresh rate. Under the display, is an optical fingerprint sensor.

The Cameras

Tecno Phantom X2 Pro is great for photography. The main camera is a good quality 50 megapixels sensor with a wide-angle lens and a f/1.9 aperture.

The rear camera setup also features a 50MP retractable zoom lens that offers up to 2.5x optical zoom and a 13 megapixels ultrawide angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture.

On the front, a 32 megapixels sensor with an f/2.5 and wide-angle lens is provided for great quality selfies. The rear camera can record 4k videos while the front camera can do Full HD videos. Both cameras also have LED flash.

Hardware and Software

Tecno Phantom X2 Pro runs Android 12 with HiOS 12 on the Mediatek Dimensity 9000 chipset. The chipset built on a 4nm architecture with a single core Cortex-X2 processor clocked at up to 3.05GHz, a tri-core Cortex-A710 processor clocked at up to 2.85GHz, and quad-core Cortex-A510 processor clocked at 1.8GHz.

The chipset is same as the X2, but the bigger 12GB RAM is this Pro edition should count for something in terms of performance. The phone also supports up to 5GB of virtual RAM via the extended RAM feature, which brings the total RAM to an impressive 17GB.

Tecno claims this model is about 1.5 times faster than the Phantom X. There is no memory card slot, just a high speed 256GB UFS 3.1 ROM.

It looks like one of the best gaming phones with a top-notch processor and generous RAM that provides a solid performance. The 120Hz refresh rate and vapor cooling system also ensures a great gaming experience.

Like the X2, this Android phone is equipped with a 5160 mAh non-removable battery. With a powerful 45W fast charging capability, the battery can reach 54% charge in only 20 minutes, with a full charge occurring in about an hour.

Connectivity

The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro boasts a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG compatibility, Bluetooth 5.3 with low power consumption, and dual-band Wi-Fi. Like is now becoming customary with flagship phones like the Galaxy S22 Ultra, this device does not include a 3.5mm audio jack. As such, you will probably need to purchase a wireless earbud if you want to listen to music.

The Phantom series is now offering 5G for faster streaming and downloads, which is a first for the series.
