Tecno Phantom X2 (a.k.a. Tecno AD8) is the successor to the Phantom X. It is a refresh of Tecno’s flagship Phantom series with upgrades in the display, camera, and battery capacity. The series is also getting 5G. Tecno Phantom X2 features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, 64MP triple rear camera, 32MP front camera, and 5160 mAh battery.

Design and Display
Tecno Phantom X2 comes in a brilliant design with a curved display and aluminium frames. The Tecno phone is available in Stardust Gray and Moonlight Silver colors. The front is a bit reminiscent of the Galaxy Note 10 of years back.
You get a 6.8-inch AMOLED display in the front with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display is very responsive with 120Hz refresh rate and is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. An under display fingerprint sensor is provided.
Photography
Tecno Phantom X2 features three cameras on the back. This is the same number of camera in the Phantom X, but the main camera has been bumped up from 50MP to 64 megapixels.
The 64 megapixels camera offers a wide-angle lens with an f/1.7 aperture and support for Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). The main camera is paired with a 13 megapixels ultrawide camera and a 2 megapixels camera.
You are sure to get good photos out of this android phone. You can also record 4K videos with the rear cameras.
The 5G phone sports a 32 megapixels front facing camera with a wide angle lens and f/2.5 aperture. The front camera can record full HD 1080p videos. Both the front and rear cameras has LED flash.
Performance
Like the more premium Tecno Phantom X2 Pro, the Phantom X2 AD8 features the Mediatek Dimensity 9000 (4 nm) chipset with an octa-core processor and a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU.
The processor is built on a tri-cluster architecture with a single core Cortex-X2 processor clocked at up to 3.05GHz, a tri-core Cortex-A710 processor clocked at up to 2.85GHz, and quad-core Cortex-A510 processor clocked at 1.8GHz.
You get a 8GB RAM and 256GB built-in storage. There is no card slot on this phone. The battery capacity has improved compared to the 2021 Phantom.
A 5160 mAh non-removable battery. The 45W fast charging capacity can charge the battery from zero to 54% in 20 minutes and can fully charge the battery in 60 minutes.
On the software side, the Tecno Phantom X2 is getting an upgrade with the HiOS 12 user interface running on the Android 12 operating system.
Connectivity
Tecno Phantom X2 features a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG (on-the-go) support, low-energy Bluetooth 5.3, and dual-band Wi-Fi. Tecno is dropping the 3.5mm audio jack on this one. This means no headphone jack for wired headphones. You will probably need a wireless earbud with this one.

Tecno Phantom X2 price in Nigeria starts at around 373,900 Naira. The Phantom X2 costs 39,999 INR in India, 67,999 KES in Kenya and 2,795 GHC in Ghana. It is available at leading retailers as well as online stores
The Phantom X2 was announced in December, 2022 and was available at retail outlets in January, 2023.
