What if who I hope to be was always me?
What if the light they hoped to see at the end of the tunnel, I always had within me?
What if’s here and there,
even my thoughts could be dangerous at this time. .
I choose to walk this path alone trying to find the right matches to ignite a spark in me.
Rummaging through my past for familiar paths I trod—looking for the light, the same light I have in me. .
I searched the garden for flowers to inspire me, it was autumn.
I drowned in the waters for inspiration from the beach, the oceans dried up.
Even life was devoid of inspiration.
Everything forced me to look inward for the light that shines in me.
